On August 4th 2020, a massive explosion shook Beirut and took the country by storm. The explosion at the seaport left the country devastated, with more than 200 dead, thousands injured, hospitals out of service, and the capital city in ruins.
Right after the explosion, as part of our Rapid Response Program, INARA stepped in and deployed teams of doctors, certified paramedics, registered nurses, and volunteers near ground zero to provide advanced first aid and medical support to those affected by the Blast.
We treated over 1000 cases in the field, assessed needs, and scanned the lists of injured for children needing assistance to include in our ongoing programs. INARA also provided drinking water, face masks, and hand sanitizers to the local communities and refugees living in the area.
