Tarek was pulled from the wreckage in Gaza with a fractured skull and paralyzed on his left side. In Türkiye, his heart stopped. Doctors told his mother to prepare for the worst; but then, his heart started beating again. He survived, but was trapped in silence, fear, and deep trauma. He couldn’t walk, wouldn’t speak, and refused to let anyone help him.
Then INARA stepped in. With the support of our mental health and physiotherapy teams, Tarek slowly began to trust, to move, to heal. After 60 sessions, he no longer needs a wheelchair. He now stands, walks with a crutch, and smiles again. Tarek didn’t give up, and now, he’s taking his life back, one step at a time.
