LUNA: Scars can't put her down
Luna’s family was living in a tent in Idlib’s countryside, after they were displaced from their home. One day, the stove short-circuited, and the tent caught fire while Luna, her four brothers and her mother were all inside. All of them sustained severe burn injuries and her mother’s feet got completely burned while she was trying to get them all out.
As for Luna, her whole face and body were burned, and she was immediately taken to the hospital where she underwent different reconstructive surgeries.
She was transferred to Turkey to receive additional treatment and stayed in the hospital for three months after which she met with INARA’s team.
We are sponsoring Luna today, and doctors working with us announced that she needed surgeries for her fingers and armpits. She also needs laser applications for her face and body. Luna’s spirit and courage are truly inspiring. Despite the pain she feels due to her burns, Luna smiles!
Since she first started with INARA, Luna has undergone scar release surgeries for her eye, nose and lips. She also underwent the surgery to free her fingers.
