In Gaza, children are growing up in the midst of overwhelming challenges, facing hunger, trauma, displacement, and the constant threat of bombings. In such an environment, mental health support is not just helpful, it is vital.
Given the lack of safe and enclosed spaces, we’ve adapted by holding sessions outdoors and in tents, ensuring that children still have access to mental health and psychosocial support despite the surrounding circumstances.
Mental health support for children in conflict zones like Gaza plays a critical role in their emotional and psychological well-being. These sessions help young minds begin to process their experiences, express their feelings, and regain a sense of safety. They offer children a rare opportunity to connect, play, and find moments of comfort and reassurance. In a place where routine and security are constantly disrupted, this kind of care can make a lasting difference in a child’s life.
