Dr. Hazem’s impactful humanitarian journey includes significant contributions in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions:
• Iraq (IFRC Mission): As a Medical Delegate and Specialist of Orthopedics and Traumatology as well, Dr. Hazem was instrumental in constructing and equipping a fully operational 4 Field hospitals and 21 primary health care centers In Mousel crises. and provided strategic health planning consultation for 26 QRCS offices, at the same time was managing Complicated Surgeries for the injured beneficiary.
• Somalia (Arab Medical Union & IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation): Dr. Hazem served as a Health Program Coordinator, pioneering the development of a General Hospital in Mogadishu, including the establishment of a state-of-the-art orthopedic department. He also founded and served as Dean of the Anatolian Faculty of Medicine, developing its strategic plan, curriculum, and administrative structure, and created a postgraduate medical specialization project to train fresh Somalian medical graduates.
• Syria (Egyptian Medical Syndicate): As a Health Program Coordinator, Dr. Hazem was responsible for establishing two field hospitals in Aleppo, providing critical orthopedic and traumatology services amidst severe conflict and managing emergency surgical interventions.
• Gaza: He was a vital member of a medical humanitarian convoy twice, providing orthopedic and traumatology care during periods of intense conflict and medical supply shortages in Feb.2024 and 2014.
Clinical and Academic Excellence
Dr. Hazem’s clinical background is extensive, encompassing roles as a Consultant in both Egypt and Germany in Freiburg university, where he managed a wide spectrum of orthopedic cases, including surgical interventions, inpatient care, and emergency management. He completed a prestigious Fellowship in Knee Surgeries in Lyon, France, gaining expertise in advanced techniques like robotic joint replacements and navigation systems.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Hazem is a dedicated educator, serving as an Orthopedic Lecturer at multiple international medical schools and an instructor in specialized medical courses and workshops. He has been deeply involved in capacity building initiatives, training residents and house officers in various international settings to foster local medical expertise.
