INARA and the OMID Foundation conducted a cash distribution in Afghanistan to support families affected by the recent earthquakes in Kunar Province. This initiative is part of our ongoing Rapid Response efforts in Afghanistan.
In the aftermath of disasters, families face increased health risks due to limited or no access to medical facilities. According to our field team, most hospitals have run out of medicines and medical supplies. Therefore, the team decided to distribute cash to enable families to purchase the necessary medication from the market.
Additionally, cash assistance provides families with dignity and flexibility, allowing them to prioritize their most urgent needs, whether for food, shelter, or other essentials. This support helps them regain a sense of stability amid the crisis.
