Like many Syrian children who have suffered through years of displacement, Myar returned to a city very different from the one she left as a baby when the war began. There are no more safe spaces to play, very few schools, and almost no places for expression. Our program in Syria focuses on helping children reclaim their childhood, creating spaces for them to play, express themselves, regain self-esteem, and enjoy a better state of mind and improved mental health.
