When you’re 17, life is full of dreams and possibilities, you start planning for college, building a career, and stepping into adulthood. But for Khalil, everything came to a pause when a rocket explosion in Gaza left him with severe hearing loss.
Accompanied by his mother, Khalil managed to reach Egypt, where INARA took on his case. With support from our partners at Human Concern International , INARA fitted Khalil with a hearing aid, giving him the chance to reconnect with the world around him, step out of his self-induced isolation, and go back to school.
This is not just about the ability to hear; it’s about restoring hope, healing from the traumatic incidents of the past, and regaining agency to build a better and healthier future.
